What is AMOLED?

AMOLED displays use organic materials that emit light when electricity is applied.  AMOLED describes a specific type of thin-film-display technology in which organic compounds form electroluminescent materials, and refers to the technology behind the address of active matrix pixels.
Since 2007, AMOLED technology has been used in mobile phones, media players, televisions, and digital cameras, and has continued to progress towards lower power consumption, lower-cost, higher resolution, and larger size applications.

What are the advantages of AMOLED display?

1) Dynamic Colour:

AMOLED displays have very dynamic colors.  Of course, these are not natural colors, but they look good in the eyes.

2) Low Power Consumption:

The biggest advantage of AMOLED display is its power consumption is better than any other display because it does not have any LED lights behind the display.  Each of its pixels is LED in itself.  With this, only the pixel you need is on, the rest of the pixels are off.  Therefore, it consumes a lot of power.

3) High Contrast:

AMOLED display has more contrast than any other display.  This gives it a sharper display than any other picture quality.

4) Thin Display:

AMOLED is thinner than any display because it does not have a backlight LED panel at the back, so anyway it is quite thin in itself, so it makes it look very attractive.

5) Viewing Angle:

Viewing Angle of AMOLED display is also very good, its LCD display shows very good Viewing Angle, you can see it up to 178 degrees.

What are the disadvantages of AMOLED Display?

1) AMOLED displays are more expensive:

AMOLED is more expensive than any display because it is the best and new technology right now and its response in the market is also very good and the people are also very happy, hence its price is more than any display.

2) Bad Visibility in Sunlight:

The AMOLED display is a bit difficult to see in sunlight because it does not have any backlight panel behind the display, so it is a common thing to not see anything in the display under strong sunlight.  However, there is also a solution for this, now the phone that is coming in the market has almost eliminated this problem.

3) AMOLED display damages easily:

The AMOLED display is more prone to breakdown or damage and if it comes in contact with water then it is impossible to escape.  Its pixels immediately deteriorate due to contact with water.
