BEST HOME REMEDIES FOR COUGH AND COLD



Ginger-

In both scientific studies and tradition, ginger is used for the treatment of sore throats. Ginger can help you to relief the pain and also helps us in fighting with infections.

How to use-
  • Take a small ginger slice and add pinch of salt chew it 2-3 times in a day.

  • Drink in tea form. You need to add water and add 2 tablespoon of ginger grate and boil it for 5min. Try this for 2-3 times in a day. Incase if you don't like the taste you can also add 1 tablespoon of honey.
  • You can also have ginger and tulsi tea. Add two spoon of grated ginger and 4-5 leave of tulsi leave and boil it.

Honey-

Honey is an effective cough suppressant.
 
How to use-
  • Consume 1 tablespoon of honey daily for 2-3 times in a day.

  • Honey with raw onion. Cut onion in slice and honey. Keep it overnight. Take 1 tablespoon in morning.

  • Take a warm water and add 1 tablespoon of honey drink this in morning. This will help you to get rid off irritating throat.


Turmeric-

Turmeric is a antioxidant which helps in treating many health problems. 

  • Turmeric mixed in warm milk is effective way to fight against cold and cough. Drink a glass of warm turmeric milk before sleeping helps in faster recovery from cold and cough.

  • You can also take 1/4 tablespoon of turmeric, 1/4  tablespoon of sugar and pinch of salt with warm water or milk before sleeping.
  • You can also add turmeric in warm salt water and gargle.

Jaggery-

  • Boil water with black pepper, cumin and jaggery to it. Drink this and it will give you fast relief.

  • Take 4-5 tablespoons of jaggery 1/2 tablespoon turmeric and add 1 tablespoon of grated ginger. Make a small ball of it. Take this ball 3 times in a day.

Giloy-


It acts as an anti-allergic and thus, helps in treating cough caused due to allergic reactions.

                                                     
  • Take 2 tablespoons of giloy juice with warn water in morning.

  • Giloy can be take in tea form also. Add 2 tablespoons of giloy in water. Boil it for 5 min in low flame. Take this in morning and before going to bed.

Echinacea-


  • Can be use in tea form. Add 2-3 Echinacea root in tea and drink it 2-3 times in a day.

Other Remedies-

  • You should drink lot of fluid which helps you to thin your mucus and make it easier for you to drain it from your nose and sinuses.
  • Drink lots of warm water it will make you feel relief.
  • You can also use non-medicated nasal saline sprays like Sinex Saline Ultra Fine Nasal Mist can help to relieve congestion from a cold.
  • You can also gargle with lubricant warm salt water. You will make you feel relief but only do this once or twice in a day.
  • Take steam. You can also breathe in steam from a bowl of hot water or steam machine. Inhaling warm (not hot) steam can make the mucus thinner. You can also add vicky vaporub in it.
  • You can rub vicky vaporub on your throat and chest while sleeping. This will help you to sleep properly.
  • Brandy mixed with few drops of honey can also helps in improves cough and common cold.
